Ninth Session of the General Assembly for the 2003 Convention

The ninth session of the General Assembly of States Parties to the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage will be held at UNESCO Headquarters, Paris, from Tuesday 5 to Thursday 7 July 2022. Over three days, 180 States Parties will gather and discuss a number of issues that are important for the safeguarding of living heritage around the world and the future of the Convention.
The convening of this session of the General Assembly in presentia is subject to the evolving COVID-19 situation. The Secretariat will provide necessary information regarding health measures in line with the host country rules and UNESCO guidance applicable at the time of the meeting.
Documents will be published in the six official languages of the United Nations (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish) on this webpage, in a staggered manner: by 3 June 2022 (for most items on the provisional agenda) and by 17 June 2022 (for two items on the provisional agenda).
Representatives of States Parties and observers are invited to register online.
