ICH NGO Forum Welcomes Submissions of Case Studies for its Capacity-Building Workshop

ICH NGO Forum Symposium 2014 © ICH NGO Forum
The ICH NGO Forum provides a platform for communication, networking, exchange, and cooperation among UNESCO-accredited NGOs to provide advisory services to the Intergovernmental Committee in the framework of the UNESCO 2003 Convention. Accredited NGOs play important roles at the national level in working with communities, states, and other stakeholders to help implement the Convention and thereby assist in the safeguarding of ICH around the world.
To share information and experiences between accredited NGOs internationally and promote opportunities for ongoing networking and sharing of skills at a regional level among its members, the ICH NGO Forum has begun a capacity building program that will hold its first workshop in Jeju Island, the Republic of Korea from 1 to 3 December 2017. This three-day workshop will take place just prior to the Intergovernmental Committee meeting of the Convention. The language of the meeting will be English and French, with Korean translations provided for some of the sessions.
Interested individuals are invited to present relevant case studies. The deadline for submitting abstracts is 20 August. For more information, please visit here. For registration, please visit ICH NGO Forum’s website. According to the Forum, the number of participants is limited so it is recommended to pre-register as soon as possible – and at the latest before the deadline of 7th of September.
