A fantasy comedy film “All on Mosles: Battle of the Generations,” based on the traditional Kazakh game ‘asyk atu’, was released on April 10th, 2025. Asyk atu is a game in which players throw the sheep knee bones to knock the opponent`s bones out of a designated area. It was inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2020 as a shared intangible heritage of Kazakhstan and Turkic-speaking regions.

The writer of the film found it unfortunate that the younger generation was obsessed with smartphones, and drew from his own childhood memories of playing asyk atu, which taught him dexterity, patience, and respect. Set in a fictional world where asyk atu has become a global sport, the film humorously portrays inter-generational competition and cooperation through flying ‘asyk’s and supernatural athletes.

The production team aimed to tailor to the younger generation through short and dynamic scenes with sharp transitions. They also stated that the film`s primary goal is to revive asyk atu as a part of everyday game culture and to reintroduce it as a shared cultural heritage of the Turkic world.
