Nowruz is a festival celebrated across the Eurasian region to welcome the New Year and spring, praying for peace and well-being throughout the year, accompanied by various traditional games and rituals. Thirteen countries—India, Tajikistan, Türkiye, Turkmenistan, Iraq, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, and Kazakhstan—jointly inscribed Nowruz on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2019.

This publication involved contributions from all thirteen countries, adding significance to the collaborative inion, and highlighted the value of cultural exchange by providing comparative analyses with Korean New Year 'Seol' traditions.
