The 2020 Advisory Committee Meeting for ICHCAP was held at the Kensington Hotel in Seoul on June 19 (Friday). The new advisory committee for ICHCAP, composed of nine experts, was established during the meeting to safeguard the living heritage of the forty-eight Member States in the Asia-Pacific region. At the meeting, ICHCAP’s achievements and challenges over the past decade were discussed with the newly appointed committee members, including Kyung-sang Kwon (Chairman, Seocho Cultural Foundation) and Sangmee Bak (Chairperson, Evaluation Body for UNESCO ICH Committee). The advisory committee convenes twice a year to focus on forming new international cooperation projects and strengthening partnerships. Their opinions on various matters help the Centre’s development plans and mid- to long-term goals.
